some of my favourite books

Books, books, books !!

No matter when and where, I love to have a good book by my side. My favourite time of the year is autumn, when the raindrops pour down the window and the air smells like wet old leaves and I´m sitting in my bed with an amazing book in my hands and a great story in my head.
I have picked four of my favourite books for you. I´m sure that if you´re a booklover, you will know at least two of them but maybe there is one that is new for you and arouses your interest.

 1. Eleanor & Park / Rainbow Rowell

Eleanor is the new girl in town and with her chaotic family life, her mismatched clothes and her bright red hair, she couldn´t stick more out if she tried.
Park is the boy in the back of the bus. With his black shirts, headphones and books he tries to make himself invisible. But not to Eleanor.
Through late-night conversations and a growing stack of mixtapes their friendship slowly deepens until they fall for each other.

My note:  I absolutely loooove this book. Very different from everything I´ve ever read, extremely smooth to read, refreshing and so, so lovely written. Eleanors and Parks love is the purest love you could ever experience and that is exactly why I love this book so much.

2. City of Bones / Cassandra Clare

City of Bones is the first book of the book series "The Mortal Instruments".
It leads you into the shadow world including vamires, shadowhunters,
werewolfs, and warlocks.
Clary Fray is fifteen when her mother is kidnapped and she first meets Jace. Good looking, gloomy and sexy and most importantly: a shadowhunter.
From one day to another and despite all her questions, Clary needs to find her place in the shadow world. With Jace by her side, she tries to win the race against time and save her mom before the story takes a deathly end.

My note: This is surely one of my favourite book series. Cassandra Clares ability to describe everything from characters to places to feelings so amazingly precise is phenomenal. The shadow world is a world I would enter to live in without hesitating a second. It is filled with so many individual stories about each character that you could write a hundred books about it. If you love fantasy as I do, this is the perfect book series to enter a new, thrilling world.

  3. Harry Potter and the Philosopher´s Stone / J.K. Rowling

Harry Potter thinks he is an ordinary boy. Caused by the death of his parents when he was barely one year old, he lives with his uncle, aunt and cousin in London. With his lightning scar on his forehad, his messy black hair that never wants to stay tidy, his bright green eyes and the fact that weird things happen when he is around, he sticks out of the family a lot.
In the night of his eleventh birthday, a ginormous man called "Hagrid" rescues him out of the muggle world and leads him into the wizarding world. Soon Harry finds himself in Hogwarts - The School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. But before he can really process the fact that he is a wizard, he has to fight the most dangerous wizard of all time.

My note: Harry Potter for me is just THE best book series ever. It is my absolute go-to when I don´t know what I should read. J.K. Rowlings style of writing is just amazing. The way she describes this complex, detail-filled, magical world makes you feel like you stand next to Harry and his friends. If I could choose a fantasy world I could enter, this would be it. There is literally nothing bad about this series I can say. So if you have not read it yet, then do so!

4. The Fault in our Stars / John Green

Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years,
Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel´s story is about to be completely rewritten.

My note: This book is just amazing. The lovestory of Hazel and Augustus is different from any other lovestory I have ever read. The way John Green writes, turns every sentence into a quote that you will never forget once you opened the first page. This book touched me like no one before and makes you feel all the emotions. From laughter, to giggle, to joy, to sadness and hysterical crying to smiling and being happy - there is everything you will ever need in here. If you haven´t read this yet, I highly recommend it because this is a book, every booklover should read.

I hope that I could inspire you to read one of these books, if you haven´t read them already. Let me know what you think of them, I always love to talk about books and exchange opinions! If you have a book you think I should read, leave a comment, I´m always open for new ideas!
Love, Anna
